the last leaves
on the basil plant -
autumn clouds

Just pulled the last of the basil out of the garden. There is supposed to be a frost tonight. Autumn is here too fast this year.

I don't know how, but your poem has a fragrance of basil leaves. Maybe because you feel the last of them hanging on, straining with what life is left in them. You capture the season well.
