I mentioned a few days ago that I had worked on a craft project over the holidays. Well here it is, a scrabble bag for my parents, whose scrabble set is so old it came without a bag for the letters. I made it from scrap material. The letters were much easier to embroider than I thought they would be!
Talking of scrap material, I found a few sets of fabric samples (in perfect condition) left out with the rubbish the other day and I took them, they'll come in useful for some small fabric crafts I'm sure!

What a lovely bag! My parents have a similarly old scrabble set and they keep the tiles in a drawstring bag that says "Shoes" on it, which I believe is my old shoe bag from primary school.... Maybe I need to make them a new bag!
Nice job.
I used to use an ink-stained bag that once contained all my schoolboy marbles, until a kind lady at the Scrabble Club took pity on me and made me a nice red one.
Nice one Crafty, I think these kinds of gifts are really appreciated by the recipients. My brother Michael is the Scrabble king in our family but sadly his winning prowess puts people off playing him. It's a pity there isn't a nearby Scrabble club for him to test his skills.
my goodness! you saw some - infact Alot - of Fieldfares and Redwings!!!
and I was only 5 miles away from the flock of redwings!!
Wonder if I'll see any - that would be delightful!
Love your scrabble bag too - everyone who loves scrabble needs a good scrabble bag! Hope you have some great games with your folks.
Like this! Doing something along the same lines has been on my to-do list forever.
Great idea .. did you see the bunnies and birds doing scrabble on a few of the bunny blogs the past few weeks?
What a clever design. I'm sure that will get lots of use!
What a great gift! I used to teach first grade. I kept a box of scrabble pieces collected from secondhand stores on a table in my classroom so my students could make their names, a word or two, a whole sentence, or a castle. It made a wonderful work station. A bag would have been magical to keep all those pieces in. xo Kari
I spotted the picture a few days ago but just got a moment and remembered to also post a short note: it is so neat. I think they must have love it :)
