and Dave at Via Negativa sums up why those of us who love birds don't always love wind turbines.... you can read his post here.

I like those two haiku Juliet - they go together so well that I think they could be a double haiky!
I'm ecoming increasingly interested in haiku. It seems more complex to form than you would initially imagine.
Lovely Haiku Juliet. So simple but beautiful.
Very interesting and thought provoking link to the wind farms. They seem so harmless at first glance...!
Two very nice haiku from a very observant nature watcher. You are definitely right about sparrows.
These are lovely. So few seem to get haiku. It's not an easy style. Well done.
Lovely haiku! Have a wonderful week and holiday :)
I love your haiku! Also, I like your use of a varying number of syllables, too. Here's one to add to yours:
scarecrows
in the wind
tatter
Your photo is making me shiver.
Chatter clatter scatter - pigeons sparrows dustcarts - good imagery!
Sorry I missed this earlier, Juliet.
I do like the way the two pieces complement each other. Pigeons do scatter, that's for sure and "chatter" is the ideal word for sparrows.
Love the poetry...I know that the wind turbines are a problem and we have a huge wind turbine farm near lake erie...
I forgot to thank you for posting to Nature Notes... Michelle
I love the walks you've been on and the pics. I got here and just smiled at the haiku(s)
I am out walking my dog at 7am and it's cold and dark,, but the sound of birdsong really lifts me to start the day.
I love the haiku. Great for nature notes.
