i'm particularly drawn to this poem as today I took some pictures of a black and yellow garden spider. she's beautiful if one can say that about a spider. have a great night.
Jasmine- the haiku is a form of poetry, originating in Japan. There are many school of thoughts about wexactly what constitutes a haiku - but my favourite definition is the one on Brooks Books - scroll down the homepage a little to read it.
A timely read. I was wiping down the window frames today and ended up missing out a whole section because I would have to have damaged two enormous garden spiders' webs, one of which was just about to start dining...

A simple yet lovely image Juliet
Such a lovely image.
Dare I ask? What is Haiku?

Oh my goodness, a spider and a web: are we ever on the same blog-wavelength today! A lovely haiku.
I can almost hear that rusty gate!
Well done, Juliet.

Michelle - I think spiders can be very beautiful
Just gorgeous
A little piece of fall, that haiku. The spiders are busy right now.
love when the image turns to "between the bars"
such a shift in perspective
Isn't it a fun poetry style?
I am watching the birds come and go, too. There are hints of red!!!
Good one. I like the sense of the gate supporting the spider and the spider in some way weaving together the aging gate.re
Absolutely beautiful. I love that the gate is rusty. And yes, spiders are very beautiful. I love it.
