Lol, despairing, I did say even!

I laughed, not being a fan of gulls.

I actually like sea gulls. Maybe because they always bring back childhood to me, make me think of home...and the right light does create magic.

Behold, the Noble Gull ...

Uh - Ya - I don't think so either!

But sure ... under just the right circumstances, a Gull might look noble ... like riding a Unicorn.

Beautiful.

I love them and then I hate them! At 4.15 this morning, I hated their racket. Walking home last night, I saw a gull turn in the sunlight to get a pink belly as it curved over the chimney stacks.

I do agree about gulls Juliet. Rather like rooks - they are so common that people either ignore them or hate them (or both) - maybe in the golden evening light they take on a new importance.

I think gulls do indeed look noble and perhaps they need to maintain some dignity, doing as they do.

especially in the 'golden evening light.'

wonderful haiku.

Hi Juliet

I think all of nature can look noble at the right time...you caught it...

Seagulls are one of those things where I try to imagine if they were rare and special how impressive they'd be, and to see them that way. They really do look marvellous in evening light.

Magpies I find really difficult to admire, though their shape and plumage is unarguably magnificent...
