Adrift - the film version

Alastair Cook has made a wonderful film of my short poem Adrift, from my pamphlet Unthinkable Skies.

You can watch the film (and hear my reading!) on Vimeo here. Enjoy!

The timing of this film being made is perfect too as I just realised we're coming up to Refugee Week!

I've also got a new poem and a photo up at the Camel Saloon, a new outlet for poetry, short stories and photos. You can read it here.

  1. Wow, superb – that’s really short and sweet and atmospheric. I didn’t know you had another ‘multimeeja’ collaboration on the go! Speaking of which, you must come and add your voice to my Unthinkable Skies musical triptych soon …

  4. Your voice will probably be heard much more often! That was great.

What makes some few so willing to take the chance while most others hide everything under their proverbial bushel?

It was haunting. The sea added its own lyricism to it. I liked how it was interspersed with the footage of the other people waving. Great job!

  9. Absolutely wonderful! I love the video, and again, I love to hear you read. Your voice is awesome. Perfect flow and timing...and the poem is wonderful, as is the video.

I will go back and read your poem at Camel Saloon again. I got so excited by your reading that I just had to comment now:)
