International Vulture Awareness Day

Thanks to Liza for reminding me, today is International Vulture Awareness Day. I had had plans to be more organised about this! Meanwhile, you can read a previous post I wrote about the plight of the vultures here. You can also find out more at: Vulture Rescue and the RSPB Vulture Campaign pages.

  1. I have just given your blog an award-please visit my blog for details-

Thanks for the heads up on Vulture day-many people do not know that different breeds of vultures can eat different levels of carrion-some can only eat fresh kills others will only eat items that have been carrion for months

  2. Thank you for the heads-up Crafty Green, I didn't know vultures were in danger? I'm off to read more about it now. I recently lost a pet and feel especially emotional when it comes to animals dying and suffering right now...

Glad to help! Vultures are such a misunderstood bird. I love that I can see a vulture almost everyday.

  6. So many people think vultures are ugly and scary. I was at a sanctuary last year and people were passing by the vulture without a second glace. But I think they have their own beauty and character.
