Common spotted orchids

The common spotted orchids and meadow buttercups in this marshy area of Corstorphine Hill certainly seem to have benefited from the rainy spring and summer! I've never seen so many orchids here!

As ever, red text contains hyperlinks that take you to other webpages where you can find out more.

These seem to be cropping up all over the shop just now. Over at the Glebe blog yesterday morning, somebody popping into my lab talking about them yesterday and I only registered them in real life a couple of weeks ago when I was in Arisaig - they had to be pointed out to me (what else am I missing ?)

Lovely photos. I've not seen those here and wonder if they're indigenous to Scotland.
