I enjoyed visiting West Moss-side Farm near Stirling earlier this year. You can read about my visit here. So I was delighted to hear that now they have three self catering holiday yurts ready for people to stay in, complete with barbeque facilities where you can sample the farm's organic produce. Part of me has always wanted to live in a yurt (I love films featuring nomadic yurt living families in Outer Mongolia!)

West Moss-side Farm is in a delightful location next to Flanders Moss Nature Reserve. In summer swallows flock to the specially built swallow hotel in the new barn while cuckoos call across the fields. You can read more about the yurts on the West Moss-side Farm website here. The farm also offers a wonderful range of creative workshops, which you can read about here and is also a lovely venue for meetings.

I took a fancy to yurts at the Big Tent - they look so cosy.
I've blogged about Organic fortnight today on Lúcháir.
Ooh! I'd love a yurt, and to make a felt cover... Fun :)
Oh, how I yearn for a yurt.
Meant to be reading in one at Wigtown this month; I hope it arrives safely and they can mantle (?) it outside the County Buildings.
Yurts are cool. I'd like to stay in one sometime, just to check out if they're really as much fun as they look.
I've blogged about yurts several times and often search online for the newest information. Love them! Great post!
I must pass this information on to my friend - she's used to staying at the wigwams near Crianlarich - but this place sounds like a great weekend away destination.
Gotta love a yurt. Amazing things. The Mongolians stay warm in the chill, so it's not just good for summer! Great post.
Cheers,
Jo
I saw a special on TV once about Yurt living. A lady lived in one with her 3 dogs. She was very happy and had not bills.
xx, shell
Lotsa yurts in campgrounds around here now. Pretty cozy! I would put one in our back yard but I shudder to think of the visitors we would have!!!
Sounds wonderful!
to live in a yurt would be neat. will you be planning a holiday stay in one sometime? sounds like a great opportunity. hope all is well.
Yurts are becoming more popular in the parks here in Canada especially for winter camping which is wonderful because winter in a park can be just as much fun.
Such beautiful things. Never seen one here, though I've not done any research on them.
