Nice, Magpie's have always been mysterious to me. Years ago, on a trip to Yellowstone, I stopped at a little cemetary and poked around. The was a Magpie on every headstone. It was so strange, they were like guardians of the dead. I will never forget the sight.
Strange, I hadn't thought of it until now but out of all the rare exotic birds I've seen (been on my fair share of bird-watching hikes), I have never seen a Magpie!
Such birds are such a blessing and we should be ashamed to be destroying their natural habitats.
I really like your use of the word "sudden". It is ideal. We don't get magpies in our region, but I remember when I was in Scotland in 1989, they were everywhere.
Exactly! So beautifully put I expect you remember Alexander Pope's definition of poetry: "What's oft been thought but ne'er so well exprest" my spelling is wrong. Here in NY we haven't a single glimmer of spring yet!

oh, how beautiful!
I love all the light.
so optimistic and uplifting :)
I love this haiku...I have magpies who nest in my yard..they sit on the horses butts and talk to each other, the horses just ignore them.
Seems we are both encountering magpies at the moment. This is just perfect!

Anyway, thank you for the poetry!
Lovely...I wish I could write..it looks so simple, but it isn't and carries so much beautiful in a few sentences....Michelle

I love your haiku's Juliet. Simple, easy to read but very meaningful. Congrats on the book too. How wonderful it will be to see your work in print.
