Early Spring haiku

snow on distant hills -
alder catkins shiver
in the breeze.

btw: i happen to live on the "distant hills" and just recently received an additional 14 inches of snow . . . no spring for us just yet . . .

how is it you appear to be more north than me and yet i'm still getting snow. well, it was a small flurry yesterday...we do have narcissus...maybe it's our altitude. . how i love that word 'catkins'
