creative thinking ~ greener living
My nanna was a wren... I love foxes.
Great imagery - I can imagine the fox licking his chops :)
Oh goodness me, Juliet, this leaves the reader in suspense alright.
and you watch the fox ...
Lovely. I guess they see the fox, too!Congratulations on your chapbook news. Please let me know when it's out. Ax
Somehow I am expecting a part two on this one :~)
What a vivid (if tense) picture, CGP. I particularly like your use of sound, too - the repetition of the 'f'/'w' sounds in lines 1 and 3.
a sly poem Crafty. i'm sure that fox was waiting for the right moment. have a great night.
i too am on my feet for the sly fox...:)
Foxes (and wrens) live in our backyard woods. Your poem lets us wonder what will happen next.
Beautiful! As always, I love the story you paint with few words. I love the sounds of the words, too. And what a gorgeous place.
That is nature, for sure. I wish we had wrens here. We do have a lot of foxes, though.
Nice haiku! I love both wrens and foxes.
