Yesterday we had a lovely though windblown walk round Edinburgh's Botanic Gardens. The sky was perfect blue and it was mild. The wind did mean that leaves are falling before we can really appreciate the colours on the trees, but the fallen leaves are lovely to look at.I spent some time under a tree, watching a treecreeper as it crept over the branches, looking in the nooks and crannies for food. The only birds I photographed though were the pigeons, some of which enthusiastically fed from Crafty Green Boyfriend's hand.... This pretty pigeon is likely to be the offspring of one of the white doves from Gorgie City Farm that bred with a normal feral pigeon.

Nice photos Juliet. We have a resident tree creeper but this time of the year the G s woodpecker gives him a hard time.
Fantastic photos. I decided to stay at home yesterday, but went out this morning and found some excellent images around and about Leith. Watch for their appearance over the enxt few days :)
Hi Juliet! Autumn is one of the most colourful periods of the year. In our countries we are so fortunate to have four seasons. When I lived in Indonesia we only had the wet season and the dry one. In a way it was boring.Thanks for visiting. Yes there are too many disasters at the same time.

That picture of the autumnal ground is sublime. Its something I often try to recreate in art :)
Really windy here today too. And the leaves are dry so they are flying.
Treecreeper is my mum's favourite bird. I quite like them too. :o)

great shot...it reminded me of the pigeons in St Marks square in Venice...sitting on the kids' heads...they weren't that fussed about it...

What a variety of colours in those fallen leaves!
Love that carpet of leaves - so colourful. Our treecreepers are very busy these days preparing for winter I guess.
