Throughout April, and culminating around Earth Day 2013 (22 April), people in the USA and across the world will enjoy good food, sustainably
sourced in the company of friends and family to celebrate Picnic for Earth.
You can take part by attending a Picnic for Earth event in your area, hosting your own Picnic event, or by simply going outside with friends or family to enjoy a private picnic.

Picnic for Earth honours the planet on which we live, the food it provides and the people we with
whom we share it. By 2050, we’ll have 2 billion more people on the
planet and it will take twice as much food to
feed us all! Picnic for Earth aims to generate awareness of the need for sustainable food
systems and the importance of protecting the natural sources of our
food.
And with the weather getting warmer, it's a great time to enjoy eating in the open air!
Picnic for Earth is a
part of The Nature Conservancy’s global All Hands on Earth campaign that asks
people all over the world “What will you do for Earth?”

A picnic is a great idea and way to celebrate Earth Day!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Eileen, what a wonderful way to celebrate the earth! The small town that I live in is having an Earth Day Hike next weekend that I am going to participate in.
ReplyDeleteThats a nice Idea!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Juliet, for all this. I loved reading your poems again ... Terrific! The Earth picnic is a great idea, too.
ReplyDeleteA picnic for Earth is a great idea. We have an amazing planet and should do more to protect it.
ReplyDeletePicnic for earth is a great idea. I remember the first Earth day celebrations starting when I was a student in the 1970s. I may be wrong but as I recall the first Earth Day was in 1970.
ReplyDeleteLots going on around here - we'll picnic.
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of this site. Congrats on getting published. I like the "Autumn Red" poem best, and thanks for leading me to another great poetry site!
