the woods are so lush at this time of year with the wild garlic and leeks
I always feel sorry for beech trees, they seem to carry so many scars, but they make a nice canvas for shadows!
these young trees will soon be in leaf!

What a beautiful location with so many lovely things to see! The weather in my area has been wonderful for walks lately, so I'm taking advantage before it heats up too much.
ReplyDeletelovely woods for your shadow shots!
ReplyDeletei'd love to take a stroll round this beautiful location.
ReplyDeleteyour tree photos reflect such a beauty!
Very nice shots.
ReplyDeleteRegards and best wishes
Just one glimpse of the tiny little burn would make a long trek through the woods worth every footfall!

What a beautiful place for a walk. Lovely captures of the shadows and trees. I hope you are having a great weekend!
ReplyDeletePeace and quite is where I wanted to be. Sorrounded by the singing birds, my haven on earth.

A wonderful, enchanting woodland! Love all the character in the beech tree trunk! Beautiful shadow patterns on it!
ReplyDeleteIt looks cool and balmy for you. It's so hot today in Minnesota that I'm sitting in front of a fan. This makes me really worried about what summer will bring!
ReplyDeletelooks like a lovely place
ReplyDeleteI like the shadow on the tree
What a beautiful place. I'd love to roam through those woods. Thanks for the photos!
ReplyDeleteThere's always a new word to learn here! Today's is "burn". I find it's a small stream or brook - a far cry from what I usually think of when I hear the word "burn".
ReplyDeleteAnd now the inevitable question - would the name "Burns" have come from this, as names like Tinker came from occupations?
I want to explore and poke around that house....reaaaaallll bad.
ReplyDeleteWild garlic in the woods is wonderful - such a shame you can't post a snap of the smell.
ReplyDeleteOH! This is such a great place to enjoy fresh air and nature's beauty!
ReplyDeletebeautiful trees here - such a lovely place to walk....
ReplyDeleteOne of those ‘nice secluded houses’, so I am informed, is the new residence of disgraced banker Fred ‘the Shred’ Goodwin!
ReplyDeleteBy coincidence, I only visited this wood myself for the first time a week ago. I wasn’t aware that it’s the Braid Burn there. It’s quite difficult to make out, even on the OS Explorer map, where the various burns begin and merge. It looks like the Howden Burn and Bonaly Burn basically merge to form the Braid Burn. Do you know whether this is the case?
Hi Howard, as far as i can tell yes Howden Burn and Bonaly Burn merge to form Braid Burn just in the middle of Redford Woods in fact.
ReplyDeleteSo much green. Beautiful images.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully captured. Thank you for your beautiful contribution to Shadow Shot Sunday 2.
ReplyDeleteFinding Beauty in a shadow. Have a blessed Sunday.

Such a delightful woodland sequence. I love the house that's nestled into the woods.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see those trees in leaf! The transformation of that canopy of trees should be incredible.
