New Job
I started a new job yesterday. You can read here about some of the reasons why I wanted to leave my previous job with Federation of City Farms. Sometimes a job that seems perfect beforehand, turns out not to be so in reality! My new job is with Evaluation Support Scotland, a charity that helps other charities to evaluate their work, both so the charity can learn how to offer better services and so they can report more effectively to their funders. They are increasingly helping environmental charities to evaluate their work. It's fewer hours which will give me time for more writing and crafting (and I'm also hoping to get some practical environmental voluntary work). It's a one year contract, which isn't ideal I suppose, in the current economic climate!
Congratulations on the new job! Having time for oneself is always a good thing :)
ReplyDeletehello! it's been a while, but you sent me a wonderful book about writing poetry as part of a write-in competition a couple of months ago (i'm in victoria australia). i just wanted to say thanks! and also congratulations on the new job: i am a tad crazier, perhaps: i've quit my nightmare job in order to pursue happiness, sanity and creativity in this nasty economic climate :D all the best! louise (toweringblonde [at] gmail)
ReplyDeleteSounds great! Good luck with it. I'm with you on the jobs that seem perfect at the time, but turn out to be anything but in the long run (I have had that problem most of my working life, it seems!). It's great that you'll have time to yourself to work on your own stuff, that's so important.

Sounds like a good move, I must have missed your post about leaving. Yes, not being about to do something because of the minutia ,that happened all the time at the the lower school, we felt like we were plodding through endless mud. Congrats! it sounds like a good one (and more writing and crafting is excellent as well).

ReplyDeleteCongratulations! It's so important to follow your heart. Otherwise, what are we but wage slaves?
ReplyDeleteThat's an interesting group .. I have not seen one doing quite that here .. at least not with so much detail (classes, consulting, ...)
ReplyDeleteWhat will you be doing?
That sounds like valuable work! And more time for projects, that's good.
ReplyDeleteAll the best as you get started!
Sounds like a marvelous job, even if only with a year contract. Wishing you the best! Hope it is filled with good people doing good things, communicating well.
