haiku - two perspectives on cars

The challenge this week on One Deep Breath is to write two haiku showing one topic from two perspectives. I chose cars as my subject and these are my haiku:

Gas guzzling monsters
Eating up the countryside
Destroyers of earth

Beautiful machines
Pleasure on the open road
Personal freedom

  2. I tried to post a comment several times this afternoon, but Blogger was out to lunch. I love the opposing views you present in your beautiful haiku! Really well done.

    Yes
    I can see both sides.

  9. excellent...we really can't live without them, though, can we? As much as we love and need them.

i would have never thought to write about cars. it's something we use each day, they guzzle gas and puff out blackness into the air. I also see both sides of this - I love my car, but I don't love what goes into making a car on all levels.

Very good topic, very good haikus.

  11. Thanks for all the comments folks and just to add, I have never driven a car, let alone owned one. I'm lucky to live in a city with good public transport.....

Hehe that’s so true what you said. Although I do strongly believe cars are not the cause of global warming its what the governments test out and the nuclear energy, also factory pollution. Amazing poem!!!
