Don't Overlook the Ordinary - the beauty of dandelions!
Dandelions are bright and cheerful flowers, familiar to most of us and often hated as weeds. I always like to see them though and today I was particularly struck with the beauty of their seed heads and shadows
It was also lovely to see this speckled wood butterfly
which was enjoying basking in the sunshine.

We used to blow on dandelions, when we were children. I've always liked them, too. :)
I love to photograph the seed heads, too. Dandelions seem to be very popular with bees and butterflies, don't they?

I love dandelions so much I won't let anyone mow the yard until the first dandelion growth of spring is over. I pick the young leaves for salad, paint etegami of the yellow blossoms, and blow on the fuzzy white ones to make wishes. After that, I let the mower in, but I love how new dandelions pop up right away. Apparently it's bad community manners around here to let dandelions go to seed before rooting them out, because the seeds spread to other people's yards. But I pretend not to know this, and no one has been brave enough to tell me to my face.
Well they are pretty but still .....
Hi Sandy - yes all sorts of insects seem to love dandelions! Rabbits love them too!
Magyar - yes dandelions are one of those plants that are very strong.
I am a HUGE fan of Dandelions! You will see them appear quite regularly on my blog. Trying to single-handedly change their reputation from "weed" to "small miracle!"
As a child I used to love blowing the dandelion seeds ...
