We had a lovely walk round Arthurs Seat today.
Jackdaws are nesting in this wall, we could hear the young calling from between the stones
linnets, greenfinches, chaffinches, wrens, a whitethroat and a mistle thrush (among others)! The most amazing birds though were the swifts. We sat for a while admiring this view
swifts (though none agreed to be photographed!). They were flying round our feet and over our heads! There must have been fifty of them! It's interesting that over the past couple of years as the swifts have declined in the immediate area where we live, they seem to have increased around Arthurs Seat. We never used to see them in any number here until last year (and perhaps the year before). Lovely to see indeed!
