Pencil cases from repurposed materials

A while ago I found a whole load of fabric samples that had been thrown out - they were in perfect condition and I brought them home to use in crafts. I'm slowly using them up! I previously made this (not entirely successful) camera case and currently am making some little bags. These can be used as pencil cases or to store other items (perhaps handkerchiefs?). The buttons are from my stash and are purely decorative, there are press-studs underneath them to fasten the bags.

I've got enough of the same type of fabric left to make another three of these then other fabrics for other (more complicated) projects. Three of the bags will be going as gifts to specific people, but I may offer the other two as giveaways here, so watch this space!

Oooh, very cute! I could think of all kinds of stuff to keep in those little bags.

Great idea! That way you don't have pens floating around in the bottom of your purse.

Hi Juliet,

Love that you were able to use the fabric to make these little pencil cases ... they are so neat and useful.

Happy week

Nice idea Juliet. I have plenty of spare material - might just have a go.

These are too cute. What a good idea. I have always either a million pens floating around in my purse or I cant find one at all.

Great idea. They would be good for the purse, too. I keep traveling make up in one.

Oh, very nice. I love finding ways to recycle or repurpose things. Those would be great for keeping things tidy in the purse or tote bag. I have to dig in the bottom of mine to find things. Very useful, those pencil cases!

Wonderful Juliet!

I would sew them onto my kilt for carrying stuff. BL would fill them, put them in her carrying tote, and lose them down in there!

Thanks everyone, glad you like them!

Rabbits Guy - you have a kilt?

I wish I was better at sewing ...

They could be make-up bags or would be great for writing materials. I have one like this that I use for my pens and pencils, so they don't float into my purse.

Great use for small samples, Juliet. I wonder, if RG has a kilt, do the bunnies have kilts, too? Can you just picture Chico or Winston?

Karen - I was thinking that, Racer was my choice - in a smart red tartan kilt and bonnet! So sweet!
