For Tree Following this year, I've chosen a magnificent old cherry tree in North Merchiston Cemetery in Edinburgh. Crafty Green Boyfriend and I started walking round this cemetery every day for our #DailyExercise during the first UK lockdown last year. And we're still doing the same walk regularly, though not quite as often.
I popped into the cemetery today, after leading a guided walk in another part of town. The leaves on the cherry tree are changing colour now!
That is a beautiful tree and you are lucky to have the cemetery near to you for daily walks (or, now, whenever you want to go there.) I hope I remembered to thank you for telling us about "Tree Following" early in our covid year. Because we stayed in one place for a year and a half then I was able to follow and post about our daughter's beautiful black walnut tree. So that was another bonus for our non-travel year. (There were many good things, if only it hadn't been for the pandemic worries!) ... anyway, I still make it a point to watch that tree and others because of what I learned from you.
ReplyDeleteNice photos of the old cherry tree! Take care, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great hobby! You are doing good work!
ReplyDeleteWill it get wonderful red leaves when they turn?
ReplyDeleteThanks Sallie, the black walnut tree in your daughter's garden is very beautiful, I'm glad Tree Following has helped you enjoy looking at it!

Hi Simon, I think the leaves are quite bright later in autumn. I'll certainly be posting photos this year, so watch this space!
Fabulous photographs of this tree ...
