On Sunday, my parents and I went to Blackleach Country Park - the local nature reserve. It was dull and wet in contrast to the beautiful sunshine of the day before
The birds didn't seem to mind the weather though, numerous swallows were flying low over the reservoir and we heard blackcaps, willow warblers and chiffchaffs singing from the trees.
Looks like a lovely place for a bird walk, even in the rain! Enjoy your day and week ahead!
ReplyDeleteI wish "our" swallows would come home. I wonder if the north winds are slowing them down?
ReplyDeleteGood to hear that yours have returned to Scotland already.
bet the butterflies stayed in bed though! Starting to see more swallows about, no house martins yet on their favoured nesting street. One street is all they have left, they used to nest everywhere here.
ReplyDelete__Another worthy walk!

Well I enlarged your photo and rain or not it looks a fabulous place to enjoy a walk.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
I always find the birds more active just before it rains. As if they are out feeding as much as they can before they have to go into hiding when the storm hits! I wish I could identify more of them by their songs ... I'm terrible at that.

ReplyDeletecold and wet . . .

Cracking shot. Love it. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteGreetings from London.
Well dull and rain is what makes green and sparkly when the sun comes out!!! Yes - such a nice place to walk there!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful image! The rainy weather sometimes is fascinating.
ReplyDeleteThat is a nice path. It looks like a good place to see wildflowers, birds, dragonflies, and butterflies.
