I am smiling at the fact that Scotland honors John Muir--how much about him is known there as I think he immigrated when he was fairly young (and kept wandering until he found the Sierras)
Just finished reading The Big Burn about a huge forest fire in the grand American West about 1810. The book was much about Teddy Roosevelt and Gifford Pinchot .. and a fair bit about their times with Muir.
