ReplyDeleteIn the US, Old Coot is a mild derogatory term for, "an eccentric or crotchety person, especially an eccentric old man." Do coots get eccentric as they age?

Maureen - coots can certainly be crotchety, but aggressive rather than eccentric. I think calling old men coots, is about baldness, because the coot's white beak and face shiled looks as though they're bald
