The weather was very changeable today, with gusting winds and intermittent heavy rain showers. We managed to avoid the worst of it when we walked round
Corstorphine Hill.
Lovely to see the first snowdrops
Plenty of fungi around, I think this is Hairy Stereum
I love these Scots pines at the top of the hill
and
Corstorphine Tower (built in 1871 to
commemorate the centenary of the birth of Sir Walter Scott) is always impressive

a lovely series of shots...thanks for taking us along.
ReplyDeleteI love the pretty snowdrops. It seems like your spring is way ahead of ours. Lovely images from your walk. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteSnow drops always so encouraging to see! Nothing here from the 1870's except a couple of very little log cabins!
ReplyDeleteAh, snowdrops. We have nothing of the sort yet with the east coast being alternately in and out of the clutches of "the polar vortex." I stayed up 28 hours two weeks ago keeping the fire in the fireplace going just to keep things from freezing.
ReplyDeleteI take great comfort in that the Spring Festival is going on right now. Come-on Spring!!
Wonderful series of images.
ReplyDeleteWalter Scott's memorial seems to have weathered time well. And those snowdrops are so delicate and pretty.
ReplyDeleteHow delightful to see snowdrops. We still have snow and lots of it. It will be months yet before we see flowers.
ReplyDeleteRegal pines!
