Two interesting articles worth reading on two different aspects of environmental thought:
an excellent, thought provoking (and long) article from Paul Kingsnorth on scything and deep, Dark Ecology in Orion Magazine (thanks RabbitsGuy for letting me know about this one!)
and Tony Juniper writes in the Guardian newspaper about Why the Economy Needs Nature.
As ever, red text contains hyperlinks that take you to other webpages where you can find out more.
I would love to send the second article to the Prime Minister of Canada who thinks he's an economist but... Well, unfortunately he seems to think he already knows everything so is not likely to read it.
ReplyDeleteYes, I thought the Juniper one was well worth the read ...
ReplyDeleteKingsnorth's article is quite a long slog to get through, but at the end are 5 ideas for continuing to advance the health of the environment. I found them pretty worthwhile and some of us are going to try to get some local discussion going around them.
ReplyDeleteThe other article is very thought provoking as well - some seems "so obvious!"
Thanks for the links, both hubby and I enjoy reading environmental articles.
ReplyDeleteGreat article from Tony Juniper.
