I took this photo yesterday near the
Water of Leith. The light was all wrong so I played about with the colour settings quite a bit. I quite like this effect, which gives an impression of the wonderful colour of the tree, though it distorts the colour of the sky, which in reality was just dull grey cloud.
Grey skies are not always dull, you know... But you were so right to play with with your camera, the red color is magnificent, well done.

I like grey skies. They can be full of surprise. :)
Just the name Rowan brought me to mind in a flash The White Goddess by R.Graves I read, half of it, many years ago...and a great chapter in it on trees' names and myths.
ReplyDeleteThat turned out to be a striking photo!
ReplyDeleteYour Rowan tree is beautiful. I love the color! Your sky looks how mine did today! I hope you have a wonderful week ahead.
ReplyDeleteI like what you did. Beautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteHi Juliet,

Happy week
Hugs
Carolyn
A beautiful tree and photo.
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors ... our beautiful katsura has all blown down its leaves and the linden is going fast!
ReplyDeleteRowan trees are so wonderful north of the border!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely photo!!
ReplyDeleteHokkaido is known for its Rowan trees (which are the same as Mountain Ash, right?) We call them Nana-Kamado ("Seven Ovens") ---I think because of the blazing color of the tree and the berries in the fall.) It's one of my favorite trees in the whole wide world. I like how you fiddled with the color to bring out that fire-y color.
