All of your photos are gorgeous, and I so love the Highlands. I can't get over the blue butterflies--I don't think we have them. Ours tend toward yellow, orange, white and reddish colors, but no blues that I'm aware of. And the beaches? Where are they. I remember reading that the Isle of Harris has white sand beaches--is that where you were, or does Harris count as the Highlands?
such a beautiful place. that water looks refreshing, for sure. it's been really hot here but i can hear thunder now and the winds are swaying the trees. dark skies have approached. all we lack is the rain. it'll be here soon, i think. hope it stays longer than 20 min. we really need a good soaking rain. hope all is well. have a great day~
I'm getting a great dose of your highland travels all at once here - I've been away in a very similar location to yourself- we were not quite as far north. Scotland is blessed with some superb beaches - some of them very remote.
Well #2 of course is Suilven aka Sugar Loaf and I'm not sure if it is one beach or three different ones but it looks to me like Achmelvich
ReplyDeleteSell the farm, Mama. We're moving to Scotland!

ReplyDeleteI can just imagine the cool breezes and fresh air along those beaches!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I have read so many books set in the Scottish Highlands that I am glad to see what It really looks like.
ReplyDeleteI am not disappointed.
Your second photo reminds us of the view from our Lochinver B&B last summer! Those beaches are so stunning ... and empty!

ReplyDeleteGerald - at least one of the beach photos is Achmelvich,
ReplyDeleteGlenna - this is Assynt, which is on the mainland of Scotland. Harris is part of the Outer Hebrides.
What lovely white sands. The whole place calls to me with its rugged beauty.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful place. Looks like perfect days for walking there.
ReplyDeleteBig skies and lonely white sand beaches. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely beach. The water is a pretty color blue. Gorgeous scenery shots, Juliet.
