Not many are there? These are all the potatoes that we harvested from the pots I posted earlier. I suspect that the combination of all the rain and our garden area being so shady, lead to this poor harvest. My partner's parents were much luckier with their yield from potatoes grown in the same way but in a sunnier garden. Garden Harvest 1 was brambles, which you can see here.
The brambles-in-a-red bowl picture is great! Yum. As for the potatoes? Well, it's a start! And they will likely taste excellent (better than off the grocer's shelf!)
Wow, that is a sad result. I had one pear on my pear tree, one prune (this one was my fault), and one quince. Granted they are relatively new trees, but it made me sad too. The consolation is that they really do taste better.
The rain almost did for our potatoes too, until my father decided to be nosey and pull one up, only to find that they were all ready and just on the brink of ruin.

ReplyDeleteits been a lowly harvest for our parts too.
ReplyDeletebut hey some is better than none and yah for the effort. nothing is more divine than eating your own homegrown potato.
Well, there are some....better than none.....but not many dinners there.

ReplyDeleteSame sad song here as well ... not very many and not very big.
ReplyDeleteBut boy of boy are they fun to harvest and eat!
WAIT UNTIL NEXT YEAR!!!
The potatoes did very well here this year. In fact, after a heavy rain my mother-in-law picked up four bushels. Then they started digging...
ReplyDeleteSo if you want to come to Planet Georgia, I'll send you home with some potatoes.
still, it's a potato harvest. :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you could grow potatoes in pots! I know there aren't many, but -- well, better than none. And I bet they'll taste fabulous!
