tanka - frost

From a frosty Christmas Day walk through Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh:

trees
glitter white
with frost -
greenfinches glow
like emeralds.

************************

frost glitters
on slippery pathways -
hand in hand
we feel safer
from falling.

A senryu on a different aspect of frost is on my Alter Ego blog.

Frost for One Deep Breath
