haiku - Tiny Pretty Things

dwarfed
by my fingernail -
golden beetle.

tiny shells
colourful on the sand -
sea recedes.

And another on Alter Ego.

yes; agreeing with fledgling poet here, you always have such a way with words that leaves me with a complete vidual of what you are saying

  3. and they are - tiny pretty things...I particularly like the second one because the sea is so magnificent but the small golden beetle is very nice as well.

  5. Hi Crafty! Beautiful images in both -- I can totally see the golden beetle in my mind. And I was at the beach this past weekend and saw so many tiny shells -- they are like little works of art! Really nice haiku!

I have never seen a golden beetle, now I want to... and the beach is calling me through your words.

  12. That second haiku reminds me of days spent hunting shells and whatnots on the beach.

  13. Definitely no image needed as perfect images appear in the words themselves. I love seeing those shells right at the waterline.

  14. Both haiku read as magical. Like you've found something no-one else has seen. I like that tone a lot!
