morning mist lifts from
city streets.
**********************************
reggae music pours
from wide open windows –
sunflowers bloom.
********************************
kilted bagpiper
skirls a tune for the tourists –
pigeons take flight.
*******************************
gardens buzz with
Spring’s first lawnmowers –
the scent of cut grass.
Spring sounds for One Deep Breath
Now that is beautiful!!! what a wonderful vision that brings forth!!! lovely!!!! thanks sure brightened my day!!Hugs Linda
ReplyDeletelovely images...the sunflower blooming to reggae music, the word skirls... and bagpipe music.
ReplyDeleteJuliet,
ReplyDeleteThe resurgence of life that spring brings!
You've captured it for all our pleasure.
rel
I especially like the third
ReplyDeleteWow, J, a whole bouquet of haiku!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
And yes, peepers are tiny little frogs... there's a link to the sound of them at the bottom of my post... thanks for stopping by.
Just wonderful- so many sounds of spring! I liked the last one!
ReplyDeleteThese are all wonderful! I can feel and hear spring in them.
ReplyDeleteoh! A melody of Haiku... I adore the third. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWe just experienced that last one in our own yard over the weekend--who knew it was rife with poetry!
ReplyDeleteThese are filled with sounds and sights. I could hear the flutter of pigeon wings ;)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Reminds me of the springtime I spent in Scotland with my family.
ReplyDeleteall of them are wonderful! :)
ReplyDeleteall excellent!
ReplyDeletethe third one made me laugh :)
The last is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteSunflowers blooming to reggae just felt right, but I want to live where bagpipes herald spring. That is a very different spring sound.
ReplyDeleteLate to comment, but I read these yesterday as well.
ReplyDeleteI like the last one. :)
They are all lovely, I didn't think of music coming from indoors, and certainly not about bag pipers in the street. That would be wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWhen you visited my site, you said you didn't know the mockingbird, here is a photo and clip. I added to my post today.

I love to discover new words. 'skirls' is a good one. Thanks. Nice humorous finish.
ReplyDeleteLove these~especially the "skirls" from the bagpipes! Only in Scotland would that come to mind ;)
ReplyDeleteNice haiku! I loved the imagery of them all, but especially the last - fresh-cut grass - mmmmm.
ReplyDeleteHugs!
The bagpiper image made me chuckle
ReplyDeletewide open windows so capture the essence of warmer weather...the muffled sounds of winter are sharper. reggae is perfect...an invitation to summer! all the little things that give the sense and scents of the season are in your haiku (not sure how to pluralise this!)
ReplyDeletewonderful vignettes. All but the bagpiper could have been my own neighborhood (I would only have to change blackbird to mockingbird and reggae to norteno).
