I couldn't resist this week's prompt at Sunday Scribblings - the Inner Life of Pets, a topic that is perhaps only marginally environmental but never mind. This is Anya, our rabbit, yes I've posted this photo before but it is the best we've ever been able to take. And below is a peek into her private life. (For those who don't know the Teletubbies is a children's tv show that features giant rabbits as well as the teletubbies themselves):
Anya visits the Teletubbies
Anya sits under the bed gently rocking, dreaming about Teletubby land. La La is her favourite because LaLa is the colour of dandelion flowers. Anya is disappointed that there are no dandelions in Teletubby land. She is sad that all the other rabbits are a rather unimaginative brown grey colour. Anya races over the hills of Teletubby land, enjoying the feel of the wind in her ears. Then she races twice round the Teletubby house.
‘Eh oh Po’ says Tinky Winky ‘There goes Anya again’
‘Eh oh Tinky Winky’ says Po ‘She’s looking for La La’.
Tinky Winky opens his handbag. Anya sees that inside the handbag are some dandelions. Fresh and yellow. The colour of La La. Anya stands up on her back legs and reaches towards the handbag….
But suddenly her human comes into the room and wakens her. Anya rushes from under the bed into her favourite box. She digs into the cardboard: Where are those dandelions? Where are they?

Anya is darling.

She is beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteAnya looks lovely! great post!
ReplyDeleteI'd send Anya some dandelions, but interestingly enough we haven't had any this year. She wouldn't like wild violets, would she? We have lots of those....
ReplyDeleteWhat a delicate little face she has - what type of rabbit is she, and does she really like dandelions? What a nice way to dispose of them when they over-run your garden!
ReplyDeleteI hope Anya finds her dandelions! Our Frank just discovered the joys of grazing in the back yard.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments! We got Anya from a rescue centre so we're not sure but we think she's part angora (this explains her fluffiness and her flat little face) and part English spot (which explains her colouring). She's also as sweet natured as she is beautiful and she loves dandelions - the leaves rather than the flowers, but Teletubby LaLa is the colour of dandelion flowers......
ReplyDeleteShe also eats clover, grass, broccoli, carrots, raisins, alfalfa hay, normal hay and dry rabbit food. She's never had the chance to eat wild violets so I don't know about that one!
Very cute :) Thank you for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteShe is so cute!
ReplyDeleteOh, wow - I want an Anya, she is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteShe is cute isn't she? I think you'd need to look very hard to find another Anya though, Miss Meep, i think she's quite an unusual type of rabbit! (Though short haired rabbits with similar markings are quite a common breed).
ReplyDeleteAnya is beautiful. I can imagine how beautiful the felt will be. She would have loved my yard last year, I let the dandelions take over, but felt guilty this year and am trying to have some control, the neighborhood is more manicured. . . but the float down from the fields anyway.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool and lovely. Especially feeling the wind in her ears. Woof!
ReplyDeleteUpdate: Anya was part lionhead and part English Spot and is no longer with us.
