It must be amazing to live as close to a heronry

Sallie and Lowcarb - thanks

Crafty Green Poethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02486633917197181851noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16542790.post-5641060554673072792021-04-06T00:09:26.427+01:002021-04-06T00:09:26.427+01:00Lovely photographs on your post, best of all was t...Lovely photographs on your post, best of all was the friendly robin feeding from your hand.

All the best Jan Lowcarb team memberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07961199165290289611noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16542790.post-59625526138463309902021-04-05T19:26:31.297+01:002021-04-05T19:26:31.297+01:00The Robin knows a good person when he sees one! From my experience ...The robin is something else!!

From my experience with Gorse in Bandon, Oregon, paths along it are fine but paths amongst it can be nasty!!

Here where I live we have the largest blue heron rookery on the west coast of the 48 states - 400 or more nests - and I have often been able to join the crew in December that goes in to count them. Fascinating it is ... such rickety stick nests and some always blow down in winter winds and then get rebuilt, a little bit added each year!RGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02017190779860810318noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16542790.post-29755899907087240212021-04-04T11:20:21.953+01:002021-04-04T11:20:21.953+01:00We have loads of birds in our garden but I haven&#...We have loads of birds in our garden but I haven't persuaded any of them to eat out of my hand yet! I sometimes think they stand looking plaintively into the kitchen window when the feeders are empty but I might be imagining it!
